The proportion of IT in products measured in terms of manufacturing costs: left in mechanical and plant engineering, right in automation companies. The VDMA defines automation technology (electrical engineering / IT hardware) and IT as all product components and services that are included in the solutions sold by mechanical and plant engineering companies - for example personal computers, control technology, sensors, networking components and software products. Products and services that are only used for the engineering/manufacturing process are not included.
