The start-up Q.ant has developed a so-called photonic chip process. This allows "highly specialized light channels to be applied to ordinary silicon chips". "This process makes it possible to add processors that work with the latest quantum technology to today's established electronic mainframe computers," says Peter Leibinger, Vice President of the Management Board at Trumpf.
Here, the photonic chip is being tested with a laser beam.
