However, employees in technical roles often achieve above-average salary increases at the beginning of their career. While specialists with three to six years of professional experience still receive annual salary increases of 3.7% on average, after 20 years their salary only increases by 2.8% on average. Overall, according to Kienbaum, professional experience pays off: This is because although salary growth is lower, managers with over 20 years of professional experience receive an average salary of 118,000 euros. In comparison: Managers who have only been working for up to three years earn an average of 73,000 euros per year. For specialists, the average annual salary in the first three years is around 45,000 euros, while their experienced colleagues earn 76,000 euros.
