The digital association Bitkom crystallizes the application example of 'social machines': social machines that report to the entire team of employees when they need maintenance. The employee who can take on the job informs the machine and their colleagues with a single click. At the same time, the machine knows if and when employees are available for maintenance. Such machines are currently used by 28% of companies, and in the automotive industry the figure is as high as 38%.
