The Octopus family is now complemented by an IP54 switch with SFP transceiver. According to Belden, this switch is the first to offer two SFP slots with IP54 protection, which can be equipped with either Gigabit or Fast Ethernet transceivers for single or multimode fibers. This means that fast data networks with different transmission technologies can be flexibly implemented even under harsh conditions, such as those found in the railroad sector or in mechanical engineering, and can be expanded later if required.
