National Instruments continues to introduce the new eight-slot CompactDAQ controller, expanding the range of CompactDAQ controllers for high channel count applications in harsh environments. By integrating the processor, signal conditioning and I/O into a single CompactDAQ system, users can reduce the overall cost and complexity of systems while increasing measurement accuracy. Integrated measurement systems reduce the number of components, connections and cabling required, which often lead to noise and additional costs. Both the four- and eight-slot controllers feature an Intel Atom dual-core processor that supports Windows Embedded 7 or NI Linux Real-Time. These standardized operating systems, in combination with the LabVIEW system design software, make it easy to transfer existing program code from existing measurement systems to the new controllers. Labview can be combined with more than 60 sensor-specific I/O modules for CompactDAQ. This allows data acquisition systems to be quickly customized to meet application requirements.
