... Nissan, General Motors (GM), Toyota, Mitsubishi and Tesla. According to ZSW calculations, a total of over 150,000 Nissan Leafs have been registered since 2010. The number of GM's Chevrolet Volt has grown to almost 75,000, while the Toyota Prius Plug-In has been sold more than 60,000 times in the past five years. Tesla has now sold around 50,000 Model S vehicles. With a total of almost 15,000 BMW i3s sold worldwide, this is the first time a German car manufacturer has recorded attractive sales figures on the e-mobility market. According to the ZSW, this is all the more remarkable given that the i3, unlike the other models mentioned, has only been on sale for just over a year. Nissan Leaf (57,000), Tesla Model S (28,000) and the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In (26,000) are the frontrunners in terms of new registrations worldwide in 2014.
