The Anybus CompactCom 40 series from HMS is a family of communication interfaces with which manufacturers can implement a multi-network interface in their devices. The series for Profinet enables very fast communication between the automation device and Profinet (the latency time for process data is less than 15 μs for the module). Profinet RT classes 1 and 3 are supported. The module has a Profinet IRT Ethernet switch integrated in the processor and supports Profinet functions such as MRP, clock-synchronous operation, fast start up and Profienergy. It also enables Profisafe communication according to the black channel principle. In combination with the 'Ixxat Safe T10' safety module, HMS thus offers manufacturers a complete safety solution. The device series also enables the simultaneous processing of demanding IT and Profinet real-time functions. The IT functionality includes, for example, a socket interface that can be used to send a complete Ethernet frame with up to 1500 bytes. Integrated web pages, a file system and firmware upgrades via FPT are also supported.
