With SC2-Presto, EKF presents a central processing unit for CompactPCI serial systems with a latest-generation Intel Core processor. The 4 HP front panel contains two connections each for network (Gigabit Ethernet), monitors (DisplayPort 1.2 MST) and peripheral devices (USB 3.0). Extensions such as RS232 are possible via mezzanine side cards with an 8 HP front panel. The main memory is equipped with up to 16 Gbytes of ECC RAM, whereby 8 Gbytes are allocated to memory chips that are soldered directly onto the PCB. This makes the module suitable for applications in harsh environments. The system has four Gigabit Ethernet controllers. Various mezzanine modules are available as mass storage devices, optionally with sockets for CFast, 1.8 inch Micro SATA, mSATA or M.2 SSD modules with SATA 6G interface. Storage solutions can also be implemented via the CompactPCI serial backplane. An on-board SATA RAID controller supplies additional drives.
