Igus presents a single-cable solution for servo motors: the hybrid servo cable with integrated hyperface bus element. The servo cable is based on the Chainflex cable series CF270.UL.D. The power supply and data feedback are coupled in one cable, and the complex measuring system cables otherwise used for the encoder function are replaced by bus technology. Both the element shields and the overall shield are made of a bend-resistant braid of tinned copper wires with over 80 % optical coverage. The shields ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of the cable. In addition, the hybrid servo cable has been specially developed for use in the energy chain and has a minimum bending radius of 10 × cable diameter. A low-adhesion PUR outer sheath encases the cable, which complies with standards such as UL, CSA and NFPA79.2012 and is oil-resistant.
