When six-axis machines work inside a machine tool, they have to cope with the toughest production conditions. Contact with chips, grinding dust, cooling lubricants, cutting oils and other aggressive media cannot be avoided. Such requirements significantly limit the range of robots that can be used. For applications in which the robots are permanently exposed to liquid media, additionally protected robots are recommended. Stäubli offers six-axis robots in HE design, which are specially designed for use in splash water environments. The wrist of these machines has an IP67 rating and allows immersion in liquid media.
