... Remote control, the operator workstation. The driver sits there as if in a driving simulator with steering wheel, control panel and pedals in front of three huge monitors. These show the images from the five forward and side-facing cameras mounted in the middle of the windshield in front of the rear-view mirror. Another camera shows the view to the rear. The steering wheel is a so-called force-feedback wheel: it reports back holding forces via servomotors and is thus intended to convey a realistic driving experience. The brake feels just as 'real', responding to the pressure exerted on the pedal, as is usual in cars. In addition to a complete all-round view, the sound from inside the car is also presented spatially to the driver at his operator's seat via Dolby 5.1.
