The winning design by the Frankfurt architects combines the preservation of the listed ensemble of high-rise building and plasma physics building (see building in the center of the picture above Günther-Scharowsky-Straße with brown roof) with an east-west axis. This axis can also be made wider in the later design phase, with a pedestrian bridge over Günther-Scharowsky-Strasse connecting the two parts of the campus. Further green corridors lead from this green boulevard to the south of the campus.
