Study on communication between IT and production, 2

... to their colleagues in the IT department, production managers mainly cite their lack of proximity to production processes. Their reason for this is that IT's core competencies are increasingly focused on supporting business processes. Production managers also criticize the lack of technical impetus from their technology colleagues and the fact that production requirements are not sufficiently integrated into the company's general IT strategies.
The verdict of the IT departments surveyed, on the other hand, is different: It is true that every second IT manager surveyed stated that they had not been able to pay enough attention to the needs of production recently. However, this was not due to an excessive focus on business processes. Instead, they cite not being involved enough in the specialist requirements of production in the past. However, both groups agree on one thing: they do not always speak the same language.
