Eaton now also offers the P1 and P3 switch-disconnectors with IP65 protection as variants with metal extension shafts for installation in the switch cabinet. This enables machine builders to ensure reliable load disconnection in the range from 25 to 100 A in switch cabinets up to 600 mm deep. The portfolio includes various options for switches, handles and axes, so that a suitable system can be put together to meet specific requirements. With the switch-disconnectors, the manual drive acts in direct connection to the contacts. The devices are designed for use as main switches with and without emergency stop function, as on/off switches and as maintenance, repair or safety switches. For installation in the switch cabinet, users can mount the switches directly on the top-hat rail or fit them into a mounting plate. Extension axes for connection to the door are available for enclosures with depths of 400 mm and 600 mm. Corresponding toggles and handles enable locking as standard when the switch is switched on and thus secure the door against improper opening when live. With the lock interlocking main switch handles, the enclosure can also be locked with up to three 8 mm padlocks.
