F&S Elektronik Systeme is expanding its 'Picocom' product family with the Picocoma5 module, which uses the Vybrid Dual-Core CPU (Asymmetric Multiprocessing) from Freescale. According to the manufacturer, the combination of the Vybrid CPU consisting of ARM Cortex-A5 with a Cortex-M4 core on the same chip enables applications in which graphics and real-time are integrated in one CPU. The module is equipped with up to 512 Mbytes of RAM and 1 Gbyte of flash. The 80-pin connector features interfaces such as one to two Ethernet, USB host, USB device, CAN, I2C, SPI, two RS 232, GPIO, uSD card and audio line in/out, a display connection in digital RGB (up to SVGA) and a touch connection for 4-wire resistive touch and PCAP touch (via I2C).
