New to the Bihl+Wiedemann range are modules with M8 sockets in protection class IP67. The two digital modules ASi BW3521 and BW3661 are the first products in a new housing, which has the same dimensions as the existing housing for four M12 sockets (45 mm x 80 mm), but a total of eight M8 sockets are available for connecting peripheral devices. ASi and AUX are connected to both M8 modules via profile cables. Module BW3521 is equipped with eight digital inputs, which are supplied with power via ASi. Module BW3661 has four M8 sockets for digital inputs and four M8 sockets for digital electronic outputs. The inputs are supplied with power via ASi, the outputs via AUX (24 V auxiliary power). According to the manufacturer, the new M8 modules with eight sockets are particularly suitable for applications where space is limited, for example when using robot arms.
