The
'miriac' Safety Evaluation Kit Panther (EK5744) is an evaluation, design and prototyping platform for the 'MPC5744P MCU' from Freescale. As a basis for your own developments, it demonstrates the use of the MPC5744P for applications according to requirements such as IEC 61508/62061, SIL1 to SIL2 and/or ISO 13849 Cat.1 to Cat.2 or PLa to d. The microcontroller contains two e200z4 Power Architecture cores that run in lockstep mode and monitor each other. The processor also supports functions such as system-wide error detection. The system offers 384 Kbyte ECC RAM and 2.5 Mbyte ECC flash memory. The board's analog and digital inputs and outputs implement the safety requirements of IEC 61508 and ISO 13849; single-channel inputs and outputs are available for lower safety requirements and dual-channel interfaces for higher requirements. A CAN interface is used for safety-related communication (e.g. via CANopen) or non-safety-related communication.
