The USB 3.0 industrial camera (edge length: 29 mm) from IDS will be available from Q2/2012 with resolutions from VGA to 5 megapixels in both color and monochrome versions. The USB 3.0 interface offers a bandwidth of up to 400 MByte/s. Trigger, flash, pulse width modulation and two GPIOs are led out via a separate connector. Other features include brightness correction and 12-bit color depth. Thanks to the screwable micro USB connector, the camera series is also suitable for harsh industrial environments. Power is supplied via the USB bus. The devices also have their own energy management and can put themselves into sleep mode. Configuration is carried out under Windows and Linux via the IDS camera manager and can be operated in mixed mode with other USB 2.0 and GigE cameras.
