The export markets accounted for just under four billion euros. According to Deutsche Windguard, the export ratio was therefore 66% again last year. The outlook of Thorsten Herdan, Managing Director of VDMA Power Systems, is ambivalent: "Internationally, Germany is very well positioned despite increased competition and will continue to participate strongly in the growing global market in 2012. However, the outlook for 2013 is gloomy. We assume that the European market will remain constant, but that the US market will slump significantly. The Chinese market will remain largely stable, but will be very difficult given the enormous overcapacity of local manufacturers."
