Harting is now making the 'preLink' technology for data network cabling in industrial environments usable in conjunction with the M12 mating face. The space-saving design enables a compact, field-attachable connector solution for Fast Ethernet or Profinet. The preLink technology offers the option of working with pre-wired routes, quickly expanding existing cabling or upgrading from IP20 protection to IP65/67. To extend the range of applications for the preLink M12, the size of the connector had to be reduced. The new solution enables users to use it even in space-critical locations. The number of individual parts has been reduced so that on-site assembly is also possible. The D-coded connector is suitable for data transmissions up to 100 Mbit/s (Fast Ethernet) and is 100% compatible with the M12 standard in accordance with IEC 61076-2-109.
