The intrinsically safe Smart-Ex 01 smartphone and the Ex cell phone 09 from Ecom were developed in partnership with Sonim. The 4G/LTE-enabled Smart-Ex 01 smartphone is designed to improve communication and collaboration between mobile users, control center experts and backend systems. The smartphone supports applications such as the 'man-down alarm', access to online documents, digital photos, videos and video streaming. Other features include compatibility with wireless headsets and other Bluetooth-enabled peripherals. The Ex-Handy 09 has both a keypad and a touchscreen and offers various Android solutions such as lone worker protection, push-to-talk and other industry-standard applications. Both devices are Google PlayStore certified and can be kept up to date with virus protection and other vulnerabilities via remote maintenance. This generation of Android smartphones is suitable for use in hazardous areas and is ATEX/IECEx/NEC certified for Zone 1/21 & Class I Division 1 (and Zone 2/22 & Class I Division 2). Both devices are IP68 certified.
