Based on the '1LE1' motor platform, Siemens is introducing motors that are specially optimized for inverter operation with 'Sinamics G120'. The VSD10 series motors are available with both an aluminum housing (Simotics GP) and a cast iron housing (Simotics SD); they cover the power range from 2.2 to 200 kW. The motor line forms an integrated drive system with Sinamics inverters. The motor winding is adapted to the corresponding inverter. Special features such as temperature sensors and insulated bearings for large shaft heights help to increase the service life and availability of the drive components. The speed control makes the integrated system suitable for applications in the partial load range. During commissioning, the motor code on the rating plate provides predefined parameter settings for Sinamics inverters. The drive system can be integrated into the TIA portal via Profinet.
