Block cameras
Wide-angle and telephoto shots alike
The lens manufacturer Tamron has launched a global shutter block camera onto the market. The MP2030M-GS is equipped with the IMX265 from Sony, a 1/1.8-inch global shutter CMOS sensor.
The block camera works under all lighting conditions and is therefore suitable for security, surveillance and traffic applications. The sensor built into the camera has a resolution of 3.19 megapixels. Various output modes are available from NTSC/PAL to 1080p/60. When capturing fast-moving objects, the global shutter CMOS sensor prevents possible motion blur in the image. The lens has a 30x optical and 16x digital zoom, giving an optical zoom range of 6 to 180 mm and a maximum equivalent focal length of 2880 mm when using the digital zoom. Thanks to the large focal length range, the lens of the block camera is suitable for a wide variety of working distances. The field of view is between 60° and 2.5° and the f-number is between f1.5 and f4.8, depending on the zoom factor. The camera module works with both LVDS and composite video and can be controlled via VISCA.
