Hyperspectral camera for extended SWIR range

Hinalea Imaging is expanding its product range of hyperspectral cameras with 'Model 4455', which enables detection in the extended short-wave infrared spectral range (XSWIR) from 1200 nm to 2100 nm.

The sensor (available from SphereOptics) is integrated into a compact and portable housing. The camera enables the detection and classification of chemicals and other materials that would remain invisible with near-infrared (NIR) or typical SWIR systems. The cameras' operation is based on a tunable Fabry-Perot filter, allowing a complete high-resolution data cube to be captured in seconds across the entire XSWIR spectral range. The system enables the acquisition of 225 spectral bands in hyperspectral mode with a resolution of approximately 15 nm (FWHM). However, the cameras can also be operated in multispectral mode. In this case, only a user-defined subset of bands is scanned, which optimizes the measurement time and enables spectral image classification almost in real time.
