Sheet metal processing / EMO 2017

Online portal Laserhub.de goes live

The technology start-up Laserhub is presenting its portal of the same name at EMO. The online platform for sheet metal processing is designed to enable intelligent checking of orders and linking them with available production resources in the market within a few seconds.

To date - the platform has been online for two weeks - Laserhub has four sheet metal fabricators under contract. The EMO presentation should help to significantly expand the network in the coming months. The aim is to gain three to four more partners per month

"The market for sheet metal processing is still largely dominated by manual processes, particularly at the interface between customers and producers. With our platform, we want to ensure that digitalization now finds its way here too. Specifically, we want to bring together demand and supply in a highly automated way, much faster and more conveniently than was previously possible," explains Adrian Raidt, founder and CEO of Laserhub. "This will reduce costs for everyone involved, make better use of resources and - above all - shorten delivery times."

The founders designed and implemented the online platform Laserhub.de themselves. It enables companies looking for a supplier to place orders for their individual sheet metal parts with just a few clicks. A fully automated process checks the CAD drawings for feasibility, calculates prices and delivery times and identifies the right producer.

Adrian Raidt, Laserhub: "We see the platform as an opportunity for customers to reduce their process costs by up to 70 %."

However, according to Managing Director Raidt, Laserhub does not act as a broker or intermediary: the company remains the contract and contact partner and takes care of all processes from ordering and implementation to logistics and invoicing. "We are responsible for the entire process until the customer has the finished parts in their hands and can optimize the process at every turn."

However, there is one area where automation is deliberately omitted: "As an additional service, we offer customers a design check on request. An experienced designer then checks the drawing before production begins. This completes our range of services and also gives customers who don't work with sheet metal all the time the assurance that everything will run smoothly," says Raidt.
