Siemens and Capgemini develop AI-native manufacturing solutions
Siemens and Capgemini are intensifying their strategic collaboration. The aim is to jointly develop AI-native manufacturing solutions that will make industrial processes more efficient, flexible and sustainable.
Siemens and Capgemini are expanding their long-standing partnership to jointly develop digital manufacturing solutions in which artificial intelligence is integrated from the outset. The approach is intended to help optimize production processes, shorten development times and achieve sustainability goals.
The companies focus on 16 areas of expertise and combine their respective strengths: Siemens contributes industrial software, automation, electrification and sustainability technologies, while Capgemini adds engineering expertise, industry knowledge and experience in digital transformation. A central element of the new solutions are orchestrated AI agents, i.e. systems in which specialized AI programs work together in a coordinated manner to improve processes in development and production.
The cooperation partners cite three examples of successful use of the solutions:
- Airbus: By 2030, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions are to be reduced by 20% and 85% respectively at four sites in the US and the UK.
- Sanofi: The use of digital batch protocols has reduced the error rate by 80% and inspection time by 70%.
- GravitHy: The digitalization of industrial processes is expected to reduce hydrogen production costs by up to 10%.
In future, Siemens and Capgemini intend to become particularly active in the aerospace, automotive and life sciences industries, as well as in the future fields of hydrogen and water management. Capgemini also plans to expand the pool of certified experts for Siemens technologies worldwide.
