ElectromobilityCharging station integrated into the smart home

Electric vehicles are still waiting for their breakthrough. One reason for this is the lack of a nationwide charging infrastructure. BMW and Loxone, a provider of smart home solutions, want to help close the gaps with smart e-charging stations for the home.

... the 'E-Mobility Starter Kit'. In addition to the central smart home control unit (left), it also includes three so-called 'Smart Socket Air' (center), which can be expanded as required. With these, every socket in the house can be upgraded to an intelligent socket. Powerful loads such as radiant heaters can be switched with them. The intelligent sockets communicate wirelessly with the 'Wallbox Pro' and are thus taken into account as part of the charging process. Loxone also provides a weather service. Weather data including forecast data can be requested for the location of the smart home.
