With Argee from Turck, PLC functions can be programmed directly on the modules of the block I/O series in IP20 and IP67 'TBEN-L', 'TBEN-S', 'BL compact' and 'FEN20' from the supplier. This allows simple control functions to be outsourced to the I/O modules, which reduces the load on the central controller and bus communication. The programming environment is a web application that only requires a Windows PC with a web browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Thanks to the provider's multiprotocol Ethernet, pre-programmed modules can be used in Profinet, Ethernet/IP or Modbus TCP networks. Simple requirements can also be implemented completely independently on the block I/O modules. During programming, the inputs and outputs can be linked to Boolean operators and actions via drop-down fields in Simple mode, which corresponds to a ladder diagram editor. This makes it possible to program basic functions without knowledge of a programming language. In Professional mode, the full range of functions is available, which means that flowcharts, for example, can also be implemented without the need for programming knowledge.
