Sigmatek is expanding its 'S-Dias' portfolio with the BC 031 gyroscope sensor module. The module provides rotation rate and linear acceleration information in three axes, allowing position and inclination to be determined precisely at any time. Based on a MEMS sensor, the module ensures high-precision rotation rate measurement, according to the manufacturer. The acceleration resolution is 0.061 mg/LSB and the rotation rate resolution is 4.375 mdps/LSB. The module delivers reliable measurement results even in harsh environments - with strong shocks and vibrations. The high-resolution sensor module has a microcontroller to filter the raw data. An Ethernet and RS485 interface are also integrated for reading in laser sensors from Sick, for example. The 'BC 031' is used in applications where the precise measurement of acceleration or rotary movements is required - in particular, for example, in automated guided vehicles (AGVs), logistics, lifting platforms or industrial robots.
