Wago
Administrative shells (AAS) for download
Wago now offers administration shells for more than 18,000 articles for download on its website - and thus supports an industry-neutral and manufacturer-independent standard that stores data in a standardized form.
The asset administration shell (AAS) is the backbone of Industry 4.0 and is particularly important for the automation of all industrial processes. It refers to the digital image of assets, devices and components through to complete machines and systems and serves as a kind of standardized data container for all assets, devices, components, machines and system data.
What is the AAS?
The AAS is an industry-neutral and manufacturer-independent standard that stores data in a standardized form. Machine and plant manufacturers can therefore obtain cross-manufacturer data in a standardized form. The standardized AAS significantly simplifies data handling and updating, enables cross-manufacturer, end-to-end networking of components and thus ultimately reduces costs for engineering, assembly and maintenance.
Wago now also relies on this standard. The administration shell, in which customers will in future find all information on a product in one file for download, is already available in the current version 3 for more than 18,000 articles and can be easily downloaded via the Wago website on the respective product detail page. By focusing on the latest management shell type V3, the company is also laying the foundation for further developments and supporting customers in meeting market requirements.
