Strategic Minority Interest in Synapticon
The Swiss Maxon Group is expanding its expertise in the field of motion control through a strategic partnership with the German company Synapticon. The aim of the collaboration is the joint development of high-performance drive solutions with integrated functional safety.
As part of this partnership, the Maxon Group has acquired a minority stake in Synapticon, a Baden-Württemberg-based provider of intelligent motion control solutions with integrated, certified safety functions. Together, the partners are building a comprehensive portfolio of mechatronic drive systems that already includes marketable solutions.
Synapticon pursues a 'software-first' approach and develops software and hardware for drive control in robotics and mechanical engineering. The portfolio of highly compact, powerful and intelligent motion control technologies is used in robot arms, driverless transport systems and complex industrial machines, among other things.
Nikolai Ensslen, CEO of Synapticon, emphasizes: "The partnership with Maxon is of great strategic importance to us. Together we will continue to push the boundaries of motion control technology. The market potential of this collaboration is enormous." And Dr. Stefan Müller, CTO of the Maxon Group, adds: "The cooperation with Synapticon opens up new technological perspectives for us in the field of highly integrated, safe drive systems. This will enable us to expand our product portfolio in a targeted manner and offer our customers even more powerful solutions."
The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the amount of the investment.
