ElectromobilityStarting signal for the first 'eHighway' in Germany

Trucks with pantographs are to drive on the A5 in real traffic for the first time from 2019. According to the Federal Ministry for the Environment, the test route in Hesse is the first on public roads in Germany. However, hauliers are still reluctant.

The actively movable pantograph enables automatic connection and disconnection to the overhead line system up to a speed of 90 km/h and automatically compensates for all movements of the vehicle within the track. Depending on the operating mode, the pantographs can be raised or lowered automatically or manually at the touch of a button.
