04 - Balluff: 3D camera portfolio expanded
The BVS 3D-RV1 stereo camera from Balluff (Matrix Vision) is equipped with 12 MPixel global shutter CMOS sensors specifically for the detection and handling of small parts, even in large detection areas with recommended working distances of up to 4 m. The BVS 3D-RV1 is equipped with 12 MPixel global shutter CMOS sensors. Correspondingly detailed point clouds as well as depth, confidence and error images provide the basis for complex automation tasks. The image data for depth image calculation is transmitted in parallel via two GigE interfaces, which enables repetition rates of up to 9 Hz to be achieved, depending on the resolution and GPU computing power. The camera works according to the GigE Vision standard and offers a GenICam-compatible software interface. This provides flexibility for the user, who can create their own applications using the SGM Producer library supplied as well as compatible software from third-party providers such as Halcon or OpenCV. Thanks to its IP54 design and passive cooling, the camera is optimized for industrial environmental conditions.
