"Integrated Industry - Discover Solutions!" was the motto of the world's most important industrial trade fair, Hannover Messe 2016. Computer&AUTOMATION shows an excerpt of the products that were on display in Hanover in a picture gallery.
The IMS-A measuring system from Rexroth, which is integrated into linear guides, records the absolute position of the axis to an accuracy of ±4 µm and reports it to the control system without the need for a reference run. The measuring system, which is insensitive to dirt, vibrations, shocks and magnetic interference fields, does not require any backup batteries during a power failure. Additional temperature and motion sensors are installed in preparation for future Industry 4.0 requirements. Thanks to the inductive measuring principle, the system is contactless and wear-free. The measuring scale cannot be disturbed or destroyed by external magnetic fields. The sensors and evaluation electronics are protected in a housing on the front of the carriage. The position resolution of the measuring system is up to 0.025 µm.
