Changes to the Executive Board

At its meeting on September 26, Schaeffler's Supervisory Board made two appointments to the Executive Board. There is also another change in the Executive Board. As a result, the Executive Board will consist of nine members from October 1, 2024 instead of the previous eight.

Thomas Stierle (54), who heads the Electrification Solutions division at Vitesco Technologies, has been appointed CEO of the new E-Mobility division and a full member of Schaeffler's Board of Managing Directors effective October 1, 2024. Dr. Jochen Schröder (53), previously Head of the E-Mobility business division in the Automotive Technologies division at Schaeffler, will also assume the role of CEO of the Europe region effective October 1, 2024. Christophe Hannequin (48) has been appointed Chief Financial and IT Officer and a full member of Schaeffler's Board of Managing Directors. He will take up his position on October 1, 2025 at the latest. His predecessor in the role, Claus Bauer, will fulfill his contract until the end of its term on August 31, 2025.

Thomas Stierle has been responsible for the Electrification Solutions division at Vitesco Technologies since the beginning of 2023. He previously headed the Electrification Technology and Electronic Controls divisions. Stierle began his career at Siemens VDO in 1995 and held various management positions there and later at Continental Automotive in Germany and the USA.

Dr. Jochen Schröder joined Schaeffler in 2018. Previously, he had been CTO at Valeo-Siemens eAutomotive since 2016. He began his career at BMW in the area of transmission development and held various management positions in the area of powertrain electrification until 2016.

Christophe Hannequin has been Group Chief Financial Officer at the JCB Group in the UK since 2022. Between 2008 and 2022, he held various management positions, mainly in finance, at Michelin in the USA, Canada and France. Prior to this, he worked in finance functions at Plastic Omnium from 2004 to 2008 and at Saint Gobain between 1999 and 2004.

Schaeffler, family shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schaeffler, said: "With the changes in the Executive Board of Schaeffler AG, we are consistently aligning the company with the imminent merger with Vitesco Technologies Group AG in order to realize the resulting opportunities. Thomas Stierle will ensure that the success story of Vitesco Technologies in e-mobility is continued at Schaeffer. I am very pleased that with Christophe Hannequin we have been able to recruit a proven financial expert with extensive international industry experience, particularly in the automotive sector, but also in other industry segments, for the role of Chief Financial and IT Officer. The Supervisory Board is looking forward to further cooperation with the Executive Board."
