Defending against Cyberattacks
Secunet has developed a comprehensive solution for securing plants and machinery: a secure platform for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) called ‘secunet edge’.
The platform combines an IIoT gateway, edge computing platform, and firewall with network monitoring in one system. Through micro-segmentation, machines can be isolated from the network. The platform ensures secure communication via protocol translation or integrated firewalls, connecting plants to corporate networks, production networks, and cloud and IoT services. This allows companies to flexibly integrate older machines into the network as part of a retrofit. With the proprietary ‚Central Management Application (CMA),‘ multiple secunet edge devices can be managed and monitored simultaneously—remotely, centrally, and through a single application. For example, firewall updates can be distributed to multiple devices after one-time configuration, even across different locations and with scheduled deployments.
