Transfer rates significantly increased

Deutschmann Automation launches Unigate IC2 Profibus, the first member of the 'Unigate IC2' embedded series. These all-in-one bus nodes are based on ARM Cortex-M4 processor technology.

They therefore offer a significant leap in performance compared to the company's 'Unigate IC' series. Unigate IC2 Profibus can be easily integrated into an end device or sensor system. This allows development costs and the market launch of network-compatible products to be optimized. The protocol connection of the module to the end device is realized flexibly by script programming with the free 'Protocol Developer Tool'. Simple scripts can be executed in just a few microseconds. Compared to 'Unigate IC', the embedded series achieves significantly higher transmission rates when communicating via SPI or UART. The SPI bus currently achieves a transfer rate of 12 Mbit/s in master mode, 33 Mbit/s are currently being tested. In slave mode, 10 Mbit/s is achieved. The UART interface supports baud rates of up to 7.5 MBaud.
