Between 1990 and 2013, China's share of global industrial production increased from 4% to 24%. According to the market experts at STM, the country is now rightly regarded as the "factory of the world". As the relevant production clusters are located in China, some products can no longer be manufactured anywhere else. One example: nowhere else in the world would you find the suppliers for the iPhone and a corresponding supply of labor in such close proximity.
