With the robotics module within the Application Software Toolbox Fast, Lenze simplifies the configuration of coordinated movements of several axes in space. Until now, gantry systems have often been driven by individual axes in the form of PLC-controlled positioning drives. The way to realize the whole thing with gantry robot kinematics and multi-axis coordinated axes in space has so far mostly failed due to the complex programming. This is where the Pick&Place module comes in: It packages the robotics into an easy-to-parameterize drive solution with a fully-fledged robotics core inside and, according to the manufacturer, can replace PLC-controlled gantries with sequential motion commands. The system offers smooth, synchronized travel profiles that are gentler on the machine's mechanics than point-to-point positioning of individual axes. Thanks to the open standards PLCopen Part 1/2/4 and IEC 61131 programming environment, further drive tasks can be integrated with the software. For example, the upstream and downstream conveyor drives can be implemented with the same controller and drive controllers.
