Yokogawa launches Prosafe-RS R3.02.20, an improved version of the safety-related programmable logic controller 'Prosafe-RS'. It offers improved connectivity with the safety-related contactless controller 'Prosafe-SLS', which is suitable for applications requiring Safety Integrity Level SIL4. By collecting data from both the Prosafe-RS and Prosafe-SLS safety instrumented systems (SIS), operators can monitor the status of all controllers via a screen window in the 'Centum VP'. If a problem occurs anywhere in the system, the sequence of events in the form of Sequence of Event (SOE) data from both SISs is displayed on an integrated screen on the operator terminals. Prosafe-RS has also been improved in terms of communication: by supporting DNP3 in the controller, customers can easily replace and expand their systems on site while continuing to use their existing SCADA infrastructure.
