The growth in order intake and revenue at Siemens Healthineers is due in part to the order volume from coronavirus antigen rapid tests, particularly in the Europe, CIS, Africa, Middle East region. In April 2021, after the end of the second quarter, Siemens Healthineers completed its acquisition of Varian; a related capital increase during the second quarter led to a reduction in Siemens' shareholding in Siemens Healthineers from around 79% to just over 75%.
