The two SOVs operate under the Danish shipping company 'Esvagt'. They are each around 84 m long, 18 m wide and have a draught of 6.5 m. There are workshops and spare parts stores on board. The ships also provide accommodation for 40 technicians and 20 crew members for several weeks at a time in the vicinity of the wind farm. The ship only has to call at a port to refuel and replenish supplies and equipment. This significantly reduces the travel time to and from the wind turbines.
