With the DC2000 series of display controllers, Berghof offers control, visualization, communication interfaces and motion control in a single device. According to the supplier, they are designed for minimum PLC cycle times and hard real-time. The unit is powered by a scalable 800 MHz Arm CPU with a Cortex-A9 core. The controllers are programmed throughout with Codesys V3.5. In combination with the SoftMotion package, multi-axis drive applications can be developed. The HMI can be configured together with the PLC application in the same development environment. Ethernet, Ethercat master, CAN bus and CANopen master, RS 232 and RS 485 serve as communication interfaces. Other protocols such as Profinet, BACnet and Modbus RTU/TCP are also available. Permanently integrated digital and analog I/Os supplement the device function with connection options. There is also a slot for expansion cards. A micro SD card slot makes it easy to integrate additional memory to the existing 256 MByte RAM, 256 MByte flash and 100 kByte FRAM. Devices with 4.3 and 7-inch displays with IP65 protection are currently available.
