Sigmatek is expanding its 'S-Dias Safety' family with the SDM 081 digital mix module, which combines six safe inputs (0.5 ms) and two short-circuit-proof, safe outputs (+24 V DC/2 A). The mix module can be used, for example, to evaluate safety elements such as emergency stop and enabling switches or to safely control valves and switches. Two short-circuit-proof clock outputs test the inputs and detect cross-circuits. In conjunction with an 'S-Dias Safety' CPU, the mix module forms a compact mini safety controller that covers small safety applications and also functions as a stand-alone solution.
