Vortex Sensor Prowirl 200 from Endress and Hauser
© Endress+Hauser Messtechnik
The Prowirl 200 vortex sensor from Endress und Hauser, which determines flow rates in liquids, gases and steam, can now measure wet steam and compensate for steam mass with new functions. For example, it can not only trigger an alarm for wet steam in steam circuits, but can also measure the amount of condensate that occurs and compensate the steam mass accordingly. According to the manufacturer, wet steam detection provides plant operators with greater safety and prevents steam hammer. The efficiency of heat exchangers should also increase. With the Promass F 200, mass flow measurement according to the Coriolis principle is now also possible in two-wire technology up to a nominal diameter of DN 80. The device is approved for use in SIL2/3 and hazardous areas. Another new function of both devices is Heartbeat Technology - testing integrated into the device without the need for removal. Heartbeat Technology offers diagnostic functionality through continuous self-monitoring, in-situ verification of flowmeters in the application and the output of additional measured variables to an external condition monitoring system.
