The CAS-8 capacitive level/limit switch from Sontec can be used to detect liquid levels in tanks and pipes. It can be used in media with viscosities ranging from thin to pasty for full and empty detection as well as dry run protection. As the sensor is exposed to extreme temperatures and chemical requirements in the product-contact area of food and pharmaceutical production plants and its tip is always in contact with the medium to be measured, the manufacturer uses PEEK material, which is FDA-compliant and insensitive to foam and adhesions. The sensor works continuously at process temperatures from -10 to +100 °C. In cleaning and sterilization processes, for example, it can be exposed to up to +150 °C and 10 bar pressure for 30 minutes. The PEEK material is resistant up to +260 °C.
