The SM13 series modules from a.b.Jödden contain the in-house ASIC module 'SM17' for operating inductive displacement and angle sensors. They supply the sensors with a stabilized AC voltage and convert the measurement signal into a DC voltage proportional to the measured displacement or angle. The DC voltage is digitized with a 16-bit A/D converter, processed in the microcontroller and converted into a standardized output signal of 0 (4) to 20 mA or 0 to 5 (10) V(DC). Jumpers and potentiometers are used to preset the required basic amplification, depending on the connected sensor. The ANF and END buttons are used to program the start and end points of the required measuring range. If required, the measured values can be corrected at the factory using the accuracy deviations of the sensor to be connected, which are stored in an EEPROM. The modules in the housing for DIN EN 50022 standard rails are designed for operating voltages between 18 and 32 V(DC) (optionally 9 to 32 V(DC) or 4.5 to 18 V(DC)). Versions with wire breakage detection, switching outputs, extended operating voltage range, galvanic isolation or USB connection are also available.
