The configurable control system Pnozmulti 2 from Pilz now has two communication modules for connection to Ethernet-based systems. These can be used to expand the base unit on the link side and connect it to either Profinet or Ethernet/IP networks. The open, configurable control system can be used flexibly independently of the higher-level operating control system. According to the manufacturer, it enables simple reading of diagnostic data and the use of virtual inputs and outputs for non-safe functions. Diagnostic and control information ensures short downtimes and high system availability. The switched interface prevents data collisions, while reporting and control are carried out bidirectionally via the communication modules. Virtual inputs and outputs are configured in the 'Pnozmulti Configurator' software tool on the PC. The control systems work as stand-alone or modularly expandable variants.
